The Pro-To club scholarship application is now available for any African-American senior in the Washington County area. Three scholarships of $1000 each will be awarded. More information and applications can be obtained in Room 527. Deadline is April 8.
The Shepherd Foundation Scholarship through Regions Bank is available for seniors in the top 10% of the graduating class that demonstrate financial need along with academic and extracurricular excellence. Deadline for completed applications is May 1, 2017. You will need to see Mrs Robinson in the registrar’s office for Access code and directions as you complete the application. Any SHHS senior that plans on pursuing a career in cosmetology should consider applying for the Great Clip Scholarship program. Awards range from $250-$1500 each and the deadline to apply is March 31, 2017. Find more info and apply at: greatclipscareers.com/scholarships

The Hampton Memorial Foundation will be awarding six $1500 renewable scholarships to a senior that is a resident of TN with financial need that plans on attending an accredited college or vocational school on a full time basis. SHHS can only nominate one student for this award. If your EFC is below $18,000 and you rank in the top 10% of the senior class, please see your counselor if you would like to be considered. Completed applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2017.
Juniors: If you have a 3.5 GPA and a 29 or higher on the ACT and are interested in attending Furman University, please see your counselor for more information on being nominated as a Furman Scholar. Nominated students that are accepted into Furman have the opportunity to earn at least $20,000 in scholarships yearly at Furman.
The United Southeast Federal Credit Union has announced a scholarship available to high school seniors who have been accepted for enrollment in an accredited college, university or seminary as a full time student. The criteria for selection are financial need, academic record of 2.5 GPA or better and service to the community, school and church. Student must submit application, transcripts, FAFSA and one page double spaced typed essay about their scholastic and community involvements along with personal information or special circumstances that will help the committee as they review application. Application packets must be completed and postmarked BY MARCH 15, 2017 to be eligible. See your counselor for the application.
Seniors should consider applying for the "Aspiring Animation Professional" Scholarship Program. This is the 5th year we are awarding this scholarship for AnimationCareerReview.com. We are offering high school seniors the opportunity to win a $1,000 scholarship. The “Believing in Home Ownership” scholarship awarded by the TN/VA Association of Realtors ($500) is available once again in the counseling office. Ten scholarships will be awarded and applications are available in the counseling office. Applicants must write an essay of 500 words or less on “What Home Ownership Means To Me”.
The Montesi scholarship is a $2500 award toward tuition/books, etc at any college the student chooses. You must write an essay of 500 words or less on a specific topic and apply at: http://www.gkbm.com/montesi-scholarship/ by May 30, 2017.
Any SHHS senior that has been accepted to Dartmouth College should see their counselor to apply for the Donald Gilmore scholarship. $50,000 a year will be awarded to students from Washington County that attend Dartmouth. If you are accepted to Dartmouth, you automatically qualify! You must provide your acceptance letter to Dartmouth as well as verification that you will be attending along with the application.
